I have noticed recently that a number of my patients have not heard of EFT (aka the Emotional Freedom Techniques). Perhaps that they seen the acronym on the side bar of my newsletter but never inquired further. Others are conscious my partner Alina is of a few certified trainers of EFT on the globe with Dawson Church, director and EFT Universe, among the three most primary certifying organizations. The rest of you could wonder what EFT and Chiropractic have to do with one another and the way could they come to be used in a mutually supportive way. I figured which it was about time will answer that question.

As a chiropractor, I mostly look for my patients’ needs about how I can help them in reducing pain and increasing their body’s function. Chiropractic has always devoted to removing nerve interference and so the body can better heal itself. That idea goes all the way up to DD Palmer and chiropractic’s inception. Coincidentally, I overheard Alina only the other day explaining EFT as a method of removing energy interference within the body that after present, slow up the body’s capacity to heal. Hmmm, how similar is that? EFT can also be referred to as a psychological version of acupuncture, but without needles. It is wonderful like a self-help technique that could be learned and suited for ones own, whereas chiropractic adjustments won’t be self-administered.

So one might ask why I would ever make use of a technique that will lessen the dependence on my services? The simple answer is that some physical issues I view as primarily mechanical, with a difficult or energetic component intertwined. Other patients present pain from stress, life patterns or behaviors that are primarily caused by past behaviors that don’t serve them that ought to be witnessed and become something new. EFT is fabulous for achieving that.

To present you with an idea of when I use EFT, below are a few examples. Recently someone started in using the recent oncoming of migraines, which began equally as their husband started having panic and anxiety attacks. Another was being affected by stress and panic to the point that this he felt that his head would explode and that he had a future long airplane trip along with a coinciding fear of flying. Another came in with chronic back pain which he noted increased when he regarded anger associated with a recent marital separation. The intertwining relationship of physical ailments with emotional stresses are infinite.

Too often patients were advised that their symptoms were within their head. This was not just a complimentary diagnosis, and basically meant the symptoms were psychosomatic, or that the physician figured how the patient was “making all of it up.” Psyche (mind) and Soma (physical body) are needless to say related, how could they not be? The moment you’ve pain, you have a contemplated it then often follows an emotion, which then causes neurotransmitters to be removed inside the brain which then producing hormones being released into the bloodstream which then features a physiological affect on items like pulse rate, hypertension, immune response, etc. So obviously our fitness and psyche journey together.

So, how do The Living Matrix: An Exploration of Energy Medicine decide when you wear my chiropractic hat and when do I slip on my EFT hat? There are no rules, just intuition. Sometimes, I make use of it when what I thought would assistance is not helping sufficiently. Sometimes I feel that there are something not being said and it’s also a means for a patient to talk about something essential that they did not feel was strongly related their presenting complaint. In any of the ways it presents, the usage of EFT almost always surprises me using its ease and its effectiveness.
