Shiatsu is also called Hilot or Percussions. Shiatsu is also called Hooth. It is a Japanese type of bodywork based on pseudoscientific theories drawn from the traditional Chinese medical theories, such as the existence of Qi-meridian channels. Shiatsu was popularized by Yukiji Takata in the later part of the 20th century draws its roots from traditional Japanese massage. It is often confused with other techniques of massage like Swedish massage and Acupressure.

Shiatsu uses finger pressure to stimulate the body’s energy flow. Finger pressure is usually applied to acupressure spots on the same meridian that are affected by shiatsu therapy. When using pressure using fingers for shiatsu massage, the client lies on their stomach with their knees bent and their upper body pressed. The practitioner moves their fingers across the Meridian channels one at a moment to concentrate the flow of energy. The therapist boosts the energy flow by applying continuous pressure to each finger.

Shiatsu massage can be applied directly to the skin, or it can be done with your hands and gently massaged over the skin. When performing shiatsu with hands, the client’s hands are covered with warm, comfortable clothing. This allows the practitioner to apply more force or energy throughout the session. Shiatsu can be performed on the body, but it is mostly applied to the shoulders, head or chest, buttocks or buttocks. There are various variations of shiatsu depending on the part of the body that is being treated and the skills of the practitioner. Some therapists prefer performing Shiatsu on clients who are clothed as they find it easier to apply the proper pressure and energy throughout the body.

The shiatsu therapist employs specific strokes or points to treat a particular area of the client’s skin during an shiatsu treatment session. In the majority of cases, these regions will be in close proximity to certain points on the body of the client which are referred to as meridians. Each meridian is different and has its own channel or energy point. Shiatsu therapists utilize their fingers, thumbs and even massage oil to open these channels and encourage healing.

Many people report feeling more energetic and warm after the shiatsu treatment. But, these sensations are not always physical, but are often emotional. The application of gentle pressure on a specific area can increase energy levels and relax the mind. Shiatsu utilizes the same energy levels as acupuncture to improve health and well-being. Some clients have told me that they feel completely calm, refreshed, rejuvenated and stress-free after having a session.

Wearing loose-fitting clothes can help release tension and pain in the muscles. This is because when you’re standing, your energy levels will be higher than if you’re lying down. The tight fit of your clothes force your body to keep an upright posture. It also lets your body unwind and relieve the tension and pain that has developed in your muscles. Your therapist needs to be aware of how tight you are wearing your clothes so they can alter the intensity or length of time.

Shiatsu can also help reduce swelling of the face and other regions of the body. For instance, if you have suffered from pimples for long, a therapist may suggest visiting a shiatsu practitioner. The shiatsu specialist will perform various exercises to lessen the swelling of the face and other parts of the body. This will reduce the appearance of pimples and the inflammation that is associated with them. It is crucial to let your therapist know what clothing is like. This could affect the effectiveness of your exercises.

Shiatsu is a great treatment for muscles that are sore. However, before your therapist performs this technique he or she will want to confirm that you’re healthy enough for the treatment. Be sure to ensure to follow the directions of your therapist to ensure proper shiatsu treatments.
